Wan 万 Nian 年 Qing 青 is Chinese name of Rohdea japonica. Literally, it means evergreen. The logo depicts the plant. The Wan Nian Qing is by Liaoning Watch Factory and is powered by SL1A movement. The date code stamped below the balance is 6908 which means this watch was made in 1969 August ( 69 = 1969 and 08=August).The movement is decorated with tooling stripes and it is really eye pleasing. Unlike other watches in that era, it has a thin flat crown which I particularly like.
SL1A should mean : "S"=Shoubiao=watch, "L"=Liaoning Watch Factory. However, I am not quite sure about the "1A" which could mean no date version of movement or an improved version A of SL1 started in 1960.
On the caseback, below the Wan Nian Qing logo is "萬年青" (万年青 but in traditional form). I think it might be Chairman Mao handwriting. The other inscriptions are "SL1A", "全钢"(all stainless steel),"辽宁手表厂"(Liaoning Watch Factory) and ”防震“ (shockproof).
